Introducing this month - the new Clerk to the Council

I’m Kimberley Walker, the Councils new Clerk and Responsible Finance Officer (RFO).
I have worked in the public sector for a while now with my early career in various back-office roles for Derbyshire Police.
More recently has seen my focus move to the Local Council sector undertaking a number of part-time Clerk, Deputy Clerk and RFO roles.
I believe that Local Councils at Parish Level play a vital part in local government delivering important services and representing the local communities they know the best.
Delivering outcomes within the constraints of the relevant legislation that provides powers and duties can sometimes be a challenge and an area that is not always well understood. It’s part of my role to both advise the council and deliver within the legal framework, as well as looking after all the councils legal, regulatory and financial matters.
Away from work I enjoy spending time with my family, most notably travelling, and particularly enjoying spending time on cruise holidays.
