The Threads of Remembrance
With needles clicking, yarn in hand, you’ve woven love across the land. Each poppy made, each stitch so true, a symbol bright of red and hue.
From far and wide, the hands came near, Community united here! With hearts that give and time to spare. You’ve shown remembrance everywhere.
The poppy blooms where courage bled, a sign of hope, of tears once shed. It’s scarlet petals softly say, we’ll not forget, come what may.
Standing near, in quiet rows, the silhouette of soldiers shows. Each cut and shaped with steady care, to honour those no longer there.
They came from each of our villages, near and small, answering bravely their country’s call. Their courage stitched through time’s expanse, they are our threads of remembrance.
In wreaths of red, your poppies rest at the feet of the fallen, blessed. Each circle made with thought and grace, where gratitude and love embrace.
For hours spent in true devotion, you’ve stirred remembrance’s deep emotion. Through craft and heart, the story’s set, we honour the fallen – Lest we forget!
So thank you, friends, for all you do, for keeping faith, for seeing through. Your poppies bloom, your wreaths show pride, your soldiers stand, their spirit our guide.
Their names live on, their voices still, through peace hard-won, through steadfast will. In every bloom, in every stem, we whisper softly….
We will remember them.
