Cllr. James Palmer

James was elected to the Parish Council in May 2023, James served as Vice Chairman of the previous Authority of Norton and Cuckney Parish Council prior to its merger. James was an instrumental actor in the transitional shadow authority which oversaw the creation of the current authority.

Prior to his involvement within the local Parish, James was a Parish Councillor on the former Scarcliffe Parish Council (1993 – 2011) during his tenure he served as Chairman of the HR Committee and the Village Hall Committee.

James has also worked for Mansfield District Council in community protection and engagement.

In addition to his prior experince in Local Government, James has prior experince in both the Charity and Education sector having served on the board of trustees of the Langwith Society and serving as a governor of Wharley Thornes Primary School and Langwith Basset Primary School.

Outside of the Parish Council, James is a proud farther of two and is married to his wife Gemma.
